The main medicinal property of "Borjomi" is the normalization of the acid-base balance.
This is an excellent remedy for heartburn, which has a beneficial effect on the liquefaction of gastric mucus.
Borjomi water is recommended for colitis and intestinal motility disorders. Liver and kidney diseases.
Mineral water from the Borjomi Gorge is sodium hydrocarbonate with natural mineralization of 5.0-7.5 g / l, has a perfectly balanced vitamin and mineral composition by nature.
In the Borjomi Gorge, 9 production wells have been developed to obtain medicinal mineral water.
It is important that water from all these wells is extracted by self-pouring, that is, mineral water is not pumped out forcibly, but the amount of water that is naturally renewed is developed.

A healing spring of the same name springs from Borjomi. The springs were used as early as the first millennium AD. Archaeologists discovered a stone bath at the foot of the Catherine Spring. In 1829, Russian soldiers brought news of the healing water's effects to Moscow. From 1850 onwards, spa tourism developed. In 1906, Grand Duke Nikolai Mikhailovich Romanov founded the first water bottling plant in Borjomi and introduced the brand bearing the spa's name to Russia.
It still exists today and is now owned by the Dutch-Georgian company Georgian Glass and Mineral Water (GG&MW). The company exports it primarily to Russia, but also to Western Europe, the USA and Israel. Exports account for over ten percent of Georgia's export volume.
The healing water is a bicarbonate-sodium acid spring that is effective against diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas, and metabolic disorders. Due to its high fluoride content, the water is also used to prevent tooth decay.
